Vineyard and Winemaking

The 2013 Wilridge Viognier is from Upland vineyards in the Snipes Mountian AVA of Yakima Valley. The vineyard features warm days and cool nights which are perfect for ripening Viognier grapes while retaining flavor and acidity. Winemaker Paul Beveridge fermented the Viognier in stainless steel tanks to perserve it's fresh and fruity aromatics.  The result is a slightly sweet wine in a style typical of the Condrieu region of the Northern Rhone Valley, where Viognier originated.

Tasting Notes

The 2013 Viognier is straw yellow in color.  The nose is redolent of white peaches and citrus fruits.  The wine is slightly petilent and finishes with refreshing acitidy.  It's medium bodied and meant for immediate enjoyment.  Good on its own, the wine also pairs well with Asian cuisine and spicy foods.  Try taking it to a picnic or barbecue on a warm summer's day.
